At Elsie Quirk Library - with Bill Lindsey - Live over Zoom (At EQL and over zoom)
Bill Lindsey will present (live at over Zoom):
"Letting Hidden Stories Speak: Tips for Researching Women Ancestors"
The presentation will discuss the challenges family historians face as we research ancestors who appear to be voiceless — ancestors who left few records. The presentation will discuss some of the reasons for this voicelessness of some ancestors, in particular, of female ancestors, who are often hidden in records prior to the twentieth century. The presentation will offer a number of case studies of female ancestors whose stories I've been able to retrieve.
William D. (Bill) Lindsey holds a B.A. in English from Loyola University, an M.A. in English from Tulane University, and an M.A. and Ph.D. in theology from the University of St. Michael’s College of the Toronto School of Theology.
