Membership benefits include:-

• September through April membership meetings with a genealogical program. The presenters are from around the country and are selected for their knowledge and experience with the program topic. Local presenters appear in-person. Others appear live over Zoom. With the presenter's permission, most programs are recorded and available for replay.
• Participation in our Special Interest Groups [SIGs]. Two Groups are now active, one focused on using the DNA tools on various websites to help with our family research, and another group focused on using the personal computer software program, Family Tree Maker, to document our family trees, photographs, documents, and stories.
• Access to video recordings of prior programs and SIG sessions, together with the related handouts,
• Access to past editions of our newsletter, Timelines,
• Discounted pricing on the Family Tree Maker personal computer software,
• Minutes of past Board and Membership meetings,
• Corporate documents.

These are available in our website's Members Only section and accessed by our members using their personal username and password.

Members are welcome regardless of their research experience or their family's past or current geographic locations. Most of our members are "transplants" to Florida or “snowbirds” with research interests covering many states and countries. Members’ research experience ranges from novices to those with years of experience. In this quickly changing world, we are always learning and refreshing what we once knew.

Most programs are streamed live over Zoom. Participation is easy from any place with internet access.

Excepting scheduling conflicts, including holidays, our membership meets on the fourth Wednesday of each month from September through April with a program focused on genealogy and family history research. All meetings are open to the public and are held at the Elsie Quirk Library, 100 West Dearborn St., Englewood FL 34223.

Our membership year ends annually on 31 August. 

Membership levels and annual dues are - - Individual for $20 - and - Family for $25 (Family membership is two people living at the same address)

Note: First-year memberships have an added fee of $10.00 per person for a name tag to be worn at all society events.

Note: Recognizing that few of our programs remain when joining mid-year, we will extend the term of your initial membership. After joining, our Membership Chairperson will contact you in these situations.
